Fellowship Spotlight: Susannah Long
Susannah Long is a third-year Fellow majoring in International Affairs and Economics with a minor in French. She was motivated to get involved in politics because of the significant impact it can have on people’s lives. Through the Fellowship, she hopes to gain experience in politics, form friendships with other Fellows and see how impactful policy work can be. After graduation, she aims to work in diplomacy, particularly in conflict situations, and incorporate Georgia state politics and teaching in her career. Her biggest takeaway from her time with the Fellowship is that even the smallest contribution to Georgia politics and policy can have a significant impact. Before the Fellowship, Susannah was involved in YMCA Camp High Harbour, where she learned how to work with others and overcome adversity. In addition to the Fellowship, she is currently studying abroad in France through the Institute for American Universities and is also the Affiliate Chair of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority and a part with the Xchangedlife, where she works with an international student to adjust to UGA. Susannah has six siblings and loves having a big family.
