Fellowship Spotlight: Khushi Mehta
Khushi Mehta is a second-year Fellow majoring in economics, international business and political science. She is also pursuing a minor in Spanish and a certificate in Legal Studies. She was motivated to get involved in politics through her involvement with her city’s youth council in high school as this experience showed her how much politics impacts individuals’ everyday lives. Through the Fellowship, she has learned how to conduct legislative research and developed friendships with other individuals who share her passion for politics. Her time with the Fellowship has also shown how much behind-the-scenes work goes into the policy process. In addition to her work as a Fellow, Khushi is also involved in numerous organizations on campus, including Student Government Association, Moot Court and Georgia Political Review. She also serves as a Public Service and Outreach Scholar and an Honors Teaching Assistant. Previously, she has worked as a legal intern with the Atlanta Legal Aid Society and as a legal assistant with a personal injury law firm. She aims to attend law school after graduation and become a practicing attorney. Khushi loves Jittery Joe’s dirty spiced chai latte as well as traveling and dancing. She has gone scuba diving in Oahu, Hawaii and called the dawgs at the Epidauros amphitheater in Greece.
