Fellowship Spotlight: Adia Aidoo
Adia Aidoo is a fourth-year at the University of Georgia studying public relations and sociology with a certificate in Public Affairs Communications. Outside of the Fellowship, Adia is involved in IMPACT UGA where they work with external organizations to provide aid to a variety of causes, such as HIV/Aids and environmental justice. She marches trombone in the Redcoat band and was also the Social Chair for the Redcoats. Her dream is to work in political communications with candidates and organizations who advocate for those who need help the most. She eventually wants to go to law school and study either civil rights law or criminal justice law. Adia would love to use litigation to expand the rights of people especially the LGBTQ community and to also work with people who are incarcerated to either get them released or reduced sentences if wrongfully convicted. With the Fellowship, Adia hopes to apply the communications skills that she has learned in her public relations experience to the real world. Adia was also the president of the College Democrats of Georgia and served as the Southern Regional Director and a co-chair of the Black Caucus for CDA.
