What interested you most about the Spencer Frye Fellowship Program?

I want to eventually work in policy so working for a State Representative seemed like the perfect place to start.

What’s been the best experience so far?

I really enjoyed the volunteering at various community organizations we did over the summer.

What have you learned from your time as a Fellow?

I’ve learned more about how the political system works in Georgia and also how to analyze policy by reviewing the bills that went through the State House.

What are your future goals?

I plan on attending graduate school for a masters in education policy, then law school, and then hopefully I will be working in an education policy think tank.

What do you love most about Athens?

I love the vibe here and the fact that it’s a college town that still allows the local culture to flourish.

Favorite Athens hang out?

I loved doing homework at Walkers and playing with my dog at the Memorial Park dog park.

Favorite local musician/band?

It’s hard to pick just one, so I have to go with my favorite two. I saw the Drive-by Truckers my freshmen year at UGA and absolutely loved them, but thanks to my mom and dad I also love the B-52s.

Your experience as a State Representative Spencer Frye Fellow in one word:
